I am firmly instructed to publish this picture forthwith. And to inform you that this is Douwe in the first tree he ever climbed by himself, with no help of any kind. Other than Daan cheering him on, that is.

Hooray!! The first tree. Hopefully not to be followed by the first broken bone!! Where is said tree located?
It is in the woods nearby here. Both Douwe and his Oma would, given their druthers, spend their entire lives in the woods. Last week, Douwe was out of school, so they very nearly got their wish.
Douwe is once again covered from head to foot with mosquito bites due to the extended woodland visits, but other than looking like an escapee from a skin disorders clinic, he has suffered no other malady (like, say, broken bones).
